Course Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

~Increase their knowledge of shared metaphor and its vale in work with couples in general

~Understand the “anatomy of a storm” in working with couples in crisis or preparing for crisis

~Articulate the connection between the “storm of an individual” and the “storm of the couple”Review the essential skills of self-reflection and “the person of the therapist” in the context of this framework Identify the presence and anatomy of storms in the couples currently undergoing treatment Collaborate in group exercises to discuss the practical application of these principles into their work with couples

About the Instructor:

Autumn Lindberg is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who maintains a successful private practice with offices in Fresno and Visalia. Since 2012, she has served as director for the Marriage and Family Therapy program in Visalia through Fresno Pacific where she also teaches a variety of masters-level counseling courses. Autumn is in the process of completing the dissertation for her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and is expected to defend in late Spring 2018.

Eric Lindberg holds a Master’s degree in Psychology with emphasis in Organizational Leadership. He has previously served as Dean of Academics and Student Services at SJVC. He currently serves as the Director for Online Operations at Fresno Pacific University while he serves as subject matter expert (SME) in courses in the Degree Completion Program such as Optimism and Motivation. In addition to teaching courses in Mind Mapping Emotional Intelligence and Mind, Body & Spirit, Eric also provides professional consultation in these areas outside of the university setting. Together, the couple combines their clinical and classroom expertise with their own “life storms” to create an engaging and practical learning.

Course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT's , LPCCs, and/or LCSW's as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.  CAMFT-CSJV Chapter is approved by CAMFT as a Continuing Education Provider (CEP #62276)
