The BASICS of EMDR

Presented by: Kara Nossardi, LMFT

The Basics of EMDR Therapy workshop will focus on the foundational elements involved in Francine Shapiro’s 8-Phase Protocol: history taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and re-evaluation. Beginning with a symptom-focused approach to case conceptualization and treatment planning, special attention will be given to attachment organization, the Theory of Structural Dissociation of the Personality, bilateral stimulation, and the 3-Pronged Approach to target sequencing of traumatic memories and current and/or future triggers. The objective of this workshop is to give participants a basic theoretical and methodological understanding of how EMDR Therapy benefits clients from a variety of attachment orientations and trauma histories.
