Presenter: Dave Jenson, JD - CAMFT Staff Attorney

Dave Jensen has been a Staff Attorney with CAMFT since April, 2002. As an attorney with CAMFT, Dave consults with its members regarding their legal and ethical dilemmas and obligations, and he is a regular contributor to The Therapist magazine.

Course Description:  This 6 unit continuing education workshop will review the four fundamentals of the psychotherapy profession and will also address the laws pertaining to the creation and destruction of the psychotherapist-patient privilege; the laws regarding holding, asserting, and waiving such privilege; the types of witnesses a psychotherapist could be during a legal proceedings; and, dealing with and responding to subpoenas.

 Course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing education credit for LMFT's , LPCCs, and/or LCSW's as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and counts toward the required Law & Ethics requirement.  CAMFT-CSJV Chapter is approved by CAMFT as a Continuing Education Provider (CEP #62276)
