A Paradigm Shift in Therapeutic Interventions: from Cognition to Somatic/Experiential

Registration and Networking at 8:30 - 8:45am

AM  Workshop (Errol Leifer, PHD):  Neurophysiological Basis For Somatic/Dynamic Therapy Intervention and Change: Attachment, Stress & Trauma.

This presentation will weave a developmental story with central themes of safety, anxiety, stress and trauma and their impact upon and interaction with our capacities for effective functioning, adaptation, self-regulation and health.

It is a story that connects the processes of life that impact upon us and how they operate within our body, brain and mind. It establishes the scientific and empirical basis for greater attention to and use of body based processes and operations as a major therapeutic pathway to assist, promote and facilitate personal healthy and more adaptive transformations.

Lunch Break 12:00 - 12:45pm

PM  Workshop (Celisa Flores, PsyD): Integrating Mindfulness, Reiki, Yoga, Breathwork into your Practice.

This presentation will focus on the relevance of mind-body approaches in both our own self-care, as well as ways to integrate these components into treatment, and will provide experiential practice to facilitate a deeper understanding of somatic interventions.
